VCB brings the arts into the community through free performances, benefit concerts, school shows, fundraisers and participation in community events such as First Night Warrenton.  These events offer members of the local community the chance to experience the excitement and joy of the performing arts where they live, rather than having to travel 30, 40, 50 miles or more.  VCB serves a rural area where opportunities to develop an appreciation for the performing arts are limited.

VCB’s performances inspire conservatory students as well.  For a child, there is no substitute for the thrill of being on stage, under the lights, hearing the applause of the audience and knowing you contributed to a magical experience.  No other dance company in the area allows students the chance to perform in a fully-staged classical ballet with professional adult dancers.  The students get the opportunity to see professional dancers up close, interact with them, and sample a possible future career.
