Jazz Company |
|
The purpose of the jazz company is to give students who are interested in jazz more professional performing opportunities at their level of dancing than are offered through the youth jazz classes. There are also more mature themes and content both in the dances presented and those seen at competitions; thus the age restrictions. The company prepares performers for the intensity and demands of college-level dance. Jazz company rehearses once a month, although company dancers are expected to take jazz class weekly. Dancers are given a jazz company T-shirt and asked to sign a contract. Every effort is made to allow students to be part of both the ballet company and jazz company.
