VCB is a professional, not-for-profit dance company. Its mission is to serve the community and reflect the community through art. The company performs at community events, educational school shows, fundraisers and benefits. In addition, VCB produced two fully-staged classical ballets every year from 2004-2011. VCB’s Director, Ms. Cynthia Kelly, has been dancing professionally for more than 30 years and teaching for 25 years. She holds her Cecchetti Teacher’s Certification to the Advanced Level. VCB will present “A Night at the Ballet” on June 1 & 2, 2012 at the Marshall Community Center. Showtime is 7:00 p.m. each night. Tickets are available at the Marshall Community Center front desk.
VCB will offer several summer dance camps at the Marshall Community Center! There’s something for everyone, from ages 3 to 14, beginner to advanced. Check out the Good Times page 51 for details!
VCB is partnering with the Marshall Community Center (MCC) to offer dance classes to the community. Registration and tuition payments are through MCC. Look for scheduling and tuition details in the current edition of the Good Times.
VCB has a new program that is perfect for schools interested in teaching Virginia SOL material in a way that engages and delights students. Titled, “The Rainforest,” this 45-minute show will present science concepts through movement set to authentic instrumental music. Characters include the Jaguar, the Snake, the Bird, the Tree, and the Bugs, and the show includes audience participation. Please contact VCB if you are interested in scheduling a performance of “The Rainforest” for your school. |
